"Dayun kam sa Ciudad san Calbayog!"
Hon. REYNALDO S. UY, M.D.
City Mayor
Formulating the Citizens’ Charter has gained popular recognition among implementing agencies and the stakeholder that will benefit both thru proper implementation of this system. The City of Calbayog with twenty (27) component local offices as support agencies is serving its constituents coming from 157 barangays that comprises the whole populace of the City as a whole. Under the able leadership of the present administration, timely implementation of the Citizen’s Charter will result to greater public satisfaction and effective office operation.
As mandated by the E. O. #002, all Departments and Offices of LGU participated in the recently held Iwas-Dengue campaign of the city on July 23 & 24, 2010, to monitor and supervise in the cleanup of the assigned barangay.
On July 23, 2010, the City Planning & Development Office (CPDO) personnel altogether met with the barangay officials of East Awang headed by Brgy. Captain, Francisco Cano in a meeting held at JOGGERS Basketball Court. After the rationale of the activity and important matters were given and discussed, grouping was done among the group since East Awang is composed of seven(7) purok. Each group was represented by one(1) barangay official and CPDO personnel.

The group agreed to continue monitoring and ocular inspection of Brgy. East Awang the following day, Saturday, July 24, 2010. The CPDO personnel assist the barangay officials of East Awang in the activities for the eradication of mosquitoes and prevent the spread of suspected dengue virus in the area.
During the activity different issues/concerns were raised these are: 1. Presence of stagnant water; 2. Presence of defective drainage system; 3. Clogged canals; 4. Area in Day-Care Center is floody during rainy season; 5. Existence of abandoned fish pond; 6. Abandoned deep well; 7. Grown shrubs/bushes in some private vacant lot; 8. Bulk of refuse/trash in some dilapidated covered-walk canals; and 9. Canals are occupied and/or entered within the vicinity by some residential lot owners. And the suggested recommendations have been taken for immediate action.

Calbayog Ko
Sa may sidlangan, bungto ko guinpaura
Mutya inagak, mga bukid ug dagat
Bisan an adlaw sa mga kakurolpon
Gikan magpahuway, nabilin sin hiyum
Panamilit lus-ay.
