NROs and Local Planners Meet to Improve Draft Provincial Plans

In her message, OIC-DDG Bacani highlighted the important role of the local planners in sustaining the PLPEM process and encouraged them to advocate the PDPFP to the incumbent and incoming local chief executives, including the approval of the PDPFPs by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Socio-Economic Secretary Ralph Recto meets PEP Beneficiaries

Beneficiaries of the Productivity Enhancement Project (PEP) from the various provinces of Eastern Visayas met face-to-face last July 8, 2009 with NEDA Director General Ralph Recto as he visited NEDA Regional Office VIII. Sec. Recto meets NRO 8 staff

Secretary Rafael Recto graced the launching of NEDA Region VIII Solid Waste Management Programme

The NEDA Regional Office VIII formally launched its Solid Waste Management Programme last July 8, 2009 at the NEDA Regional Office VIII. The launching kicks off the operationalization of the Materials Recovery Area (MRA), a facility where the office’s waste/garbage will be appropriately sorted/segregated and disposed of.

Secretary of Socio-Economic Planning and Director General Ralph Recto expressed his recognition and appreciation of the efforts of NRO VIII in developing its IT capabilities and that of EVISNet’s current initiatives. Development Administration Committee brings RDC to Eastern Samar

            To address the impending damaging effects of climate change, the Regional Development Committee (RDCom), composed of the Regional Development Councils VI, VII, and VIII conducted a 2-day ONE Visayas Climate Change Summit on May 11 to 12, 2009. The Summit was participated in by the academe, Regional Development Council (RDC) members, governors, congresspersons, mayors, civil society, private sector representatives totaling 577 registered participants.
